Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentines Day, 1784.

The rose is red, the violet’s blue,
The honey’s sweet, and so are you.
Thou art my love and I am thine;
I drew thee to my Valentine:
The lot was cast and then I drew,
And Fortune said it shou’d be you.

Some call it “progress” but I have to say, minus all the persecution, revolts, rebellions, disease, filth and abject poverty, it seems like at least the love letters of the past are a little more, oh I don’t know say, personal.  Quite the trade off however. Regardless of how we decide to honour the loves of our lives, we all appreciate that the basis of it all is human connectivity and knowing that someone, somewhere has your back.

Today’s deal is a for a beautiful set of nails from an experienced and professional nail technician at Rein Tanning and Spa. Drawing from years of experience in the field, she can put on a set of acrylic or gel nail enhancements that look natural yet gorgeous, yet stand up to the wear and tear of everyday life.  And today, that may include opening a beautiful poetic card, answering a text, or savouring a delectable box of fine chocolates!

I’ll leave you with two Valentine’s Day Messages.

Love by Samuel Taylor Coleridge
And in Life’s noisiest hour,
There whispers still the ceaseless Love of Thee,
The heart’s Self-solace and soliloquy.
You mould my Hopes, you fashion me within ;
And to the leading Love-throb in the Heart
Thro’ all my Being, thro’ my pulse’s beat ;
You lie in all my many Thoughts, like Light,
Like the fair light of Dawn, or summer Eve
On rippling Stream, or cloud-reflecting Lake.
And looking to the Heaven, that bends above you,
How oft! I bless the Lot that made me love.
