Στην υγειά μας! (stin iyá mas!)… It’s All Greek to Me.

Στην υγειά μας! (stin iyá mas!)  According to the “Useful Greek Phrases” website, this means, “Cheers/Good Health”.

I put it out here because when you take advantage of today’s offer to partake in the delicious Greek victuals from Marko’s Kouzina, I hope that you will raise a glass (I suggest red wine, but feel free to improvise) for a friendly toast before enjoying your meal.

Then, if you want to really immerse yourself in the Greek Language, you could check out this list of Greek phrases, some useful, like Καλή όρεξη! (Kalí óreksi!) – Bon Appetit, and others maybe a little less useful, like Το Χόβερκράφτ μου είναι γεμάτο χέλια (To hóverkráft mu íne gemáto hélia) – My hovercraft is full of eels.

The one phrase we may want to work on however is: “This food is delicious.” Of course an empty plate and a smile mean the same thing in every language.
