There used to be a song on Sesame Street about the people in your neighbourhood. I haven’t watched an episode lately, but it certainly was a catchy little tune, since here I am, (approximately) 35 years later and I can still clearly remember the words and the melody. It mostly focused on the postman, the fireman, and the policeman, but for today’s version, it would be prudent to add in the Barista.
They really were onto something though, because there is something comforting about being familiar with the folks in your neighbourhood, which is why the people who live near Kanaka Creek Coffee have an absolute gem in their midst. It is homey, it is comfortable, it is welcoming and when I went they were having a music event with a beautful singer and and an engaged audience. Oh yeah, did I mention that their coffee was delicious and the selection of baked goods and snacks was fantastic. This family run, warm neighbourhood coffee house is indeed a part of building a vibrant (and well fed) community, so that you too can be familiar with the people in your neighbourhood. While making friends is priceless, doing it over a coffee and snack using today’s deal is the best two for one deal you can get!
