I have noticed a trend in kids birthday parties. Smart Mothers have apparently figured out how to eliminate the diplomatic mine field associated with the cutting of a birthday cake. The answer: Cupcakes.
Think about it. All equal size pieces. Equal amounts of icing. Equal amounts of decorative fun. No plates. No forks. Simply a napkin and a Lot of Happy Kids.
