When Dorothy and her entourage were venturing through the land of Oz, they were all in search of something. A brain, a heart, courage and a one way, non-stop trip home. I’ve been thinking about the lessons from their journey and while there are many, here are a few.
Lessons from the Land of Oz ~ (in no particular order).
1. There is no place like home ~ what you are searching for is right where you are!
2. Always pack your fanciest shoes when going on a trip ~ they might just be what gets you where you want to go.
3. Keep a good supply of clean oil so you can keep moving ~ just ask the tin man.
With regards to lesson number three, let’s just say that if I was going on a journey to procure something such as a heart, I might just make sure to be prepared for the trip by packing the necessities. In the Tin Man’s case it would have been prudent to remember to keep the oil flowing.
Well, in my case, if I am going to continue to get to all the places I need to be on a regular basis, such as the school, the rink, the soccer pitch and indeed the Doctors Office, it would be wise to do my best to keep my car engine running smooth. To that end today’s deal will keep our engines running at their peak performance so that we can get on with our journey.
Just remember wherever you go, there is no place like… the shoe store.
